HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

Saturday, December 30, 2006

Ok, I finally got the photos loaded on to the computer. We have been pretty busy the last few days entertaining the in-laws. We spent the day Wednesday in New York. We went to the Met, Rockefeller Center, and the top of the Rock (the top of Rockefeller Center). We have been having a great time, but we are all totally warn out. The kids and I opted out of the trip to the Washington DC Temple today because it was just too much. We decided the Bishop could handle that one with his parents and the rest of our ward. The almost three hour drive each way to the temple isn't the easiest thing in the world for the kids, not to mention the fact that there isn't much for them to do once we are there; the vistors center in Washington DC is pretty small. Hope everyone has had a great holiday week. Our best to all of you. Just threw a picture in there from New York. The snowflakes are reflected onto the Saks Fifth Avenue that is right up the street from Rockefeller Plaza.

Hi
Cindi glad to see any pictures but would like to see some of you too. Hope the shot glasses are on their way because your root beer balls etc. were sent last wed the 27th. if not hope you and David get sick on the candy. Sure am anxiously waiting for those exciting Christmas morning pictures from everyone else Marion, Nathan, and Bobby. To answer your question Jeff there is not much of the spirit of giving in our Ginn family so to eliminate the embarrassment of not being able to give one gift to one member of the family I suggest that we drop it and ...............just know that some members are lazy and really care only about themselves. As a father I love you all but some of you disappoint me.

This is about as exciting as our Christmas was. Getting David out of bed (at 11:30am) and opening presents. It was fun even with just the two of us!

ps. I know they´re not very exciting pictures....but at least they´re something!!

Hugs and kisses for all.

Merry Christmas from Lehi, Utah!

I had the great opportunity to be with the Bobby Ginn family and video their Christmas morning as they opened presents. I will try to post the video by weeks end so you can see the emotions of a 4 year old (Stacia) get jerked around as she went through what she thought was a dissapointing Christmas. It is a fun 40 minutes, I will try to edit it down a bit. the Ginn home is happy and humble. They are wonderful hosts!

The Big question is....

....the Ginn family drew names to get everyone presents...what did everyone get from who?

I will answer first: I got nothing from Cindi, however, I know she made some attempts but they fell through. A.C., i am still waiting for my Bobby Convey Jersey ;)

Bobby and Gina did get me a nose hair trimmer and finger/toe nail kit, an adidas toiletry kit some candy and mom sent me a card and money to go see Charlotte's Web with the Bobby Ginn family.

Clue us all in, what did you get from the person that drew your name?

Love ya!

-Jeffery Jon
FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!

Christmas has been great here. David really put a lot of thought into my gifts (for the first time) so that was special. We´ve eaten soooooooooo much. Here in Catalunya tomorrow is also a holiday so we´ve got a ward futbol (soccer) game in the morning (since people don´t have to work) and then we´ll go to Julia´s house for lunch/dinner.

Today was great. Cristina (my sister in law) made the lunch and then we stayed there untill now...2:00am playing "Idiot" and Phase Ten....see I am rubbing off on them a little bit!

Hope to hear from everyone soon and see pictures. Love and MISS you all very much. Hugs and kisses, cindi

Merry Christmas all!!!
We had Christmas with the sister missionaries this year.
Marie got up early and made dutch babies and ham for breakfast.
Then we went upstairs and opened the gifts. It was nice to be able to share a few moments with the sisters and I am sure it made them feel a little less homesick.
Last night we had a special unplanned fhe with the six missionaries in our area and made the time a little special for them. anyway here are the pictures of christmas 06 at the old ginn's.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

We don't have any pictures ready to download yet, but we wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We hope you are all having a great time together wherever you are. Bryan didn't dress up as the grinch, but Billie Joe got another Guitar Hero and an IPod Nano so he is going to be doing some serious rocking out. Bryan's parents are coming tomorrow to spend five days with us and we are all looking forward to that. We are planning to go to New York on Thursday and Washington DC on Saturday. We should have lots of pictures soon since this seemed to be the digital camera Christmas at our house. Our love to all of you.

Great post Nathan!! cant wait to see the girls in the iggloooes with snowmen in the blixzzard of 2006. Cindi it is good to hesr that you and David are moving up the food chain. Nathan you are going to have a hard time getting the lights down but I am proud of the great job you and the boys did on getting them up. They look great. love mom and dad. Mom suggest you get a long pole with a notch on it. I use one to get my lights up and down.

Last one for now, as you can see, we feel like we had a successful house lighting and it is very fun for all of us to come home and see our lights. Brandi particularly, she did not grow up in a home where lighting the house at Christmas was a tradition, as a matter of fact, her family didn't start putting lights on the house until after we were married. One last photo of Alexa and Brinley on Santas lap. Natalie was a little too shy this year. Merry Chirstmas and I will try to post some after Christmas pictures some time before St. Patricks Day, but don't hold be to that. Also, we have some really fun pictures from the recent Snow storm that I will send soon.

Satruday Night we all went to get our Christmas Tree. We were successful, but the verdict on the Novia Scotia Balsam chirstmas tree has yet to be determined. Its limbs will not hold the ornaments, and it is loosing needles so quckly, we may just have a really cool 10 foot stick by Chirstmas. Jim and Adam are in the picture with me and the girls.

Then We hung Christmas lights on the house. Here is a picture of the light crew. Jonathan took the opportunity to give us a spiderman pose while hanging out the window. Adam volunteered to hang over the edge and do the hard to reach spots. Jim was the safety anchor managing the rope. This took 2 days, Friday and Saturday.

Thanksgiving was fun, we had Brandi's family in town and were able to do quite a bit in the short time they were here. First, we had T-day. Mmmmm.. deep fried turkey. If you have never tried this, I strongly recommend it. It was my first attempt, and I must say that it turned out very well.

On NOvember 18, I took the girls on a daddy daughter date to see the Young Ambassadors perform at our local High School. Fun was had by all as the YA did a medely show of various Boradway musicals.

Our next family event was a visit from the Hillman's. They came out the first week in November for the BYU Spanking of Colorado State, now that was a fun game. So exciting that one of the drunk CSU fans threw his beer all over the BYU section down in front of us, I opened my mouth, but unfortunately.... The GIRLS - all GIRLS had a great time playing with the boxes in the basement. Brandi was quite the trooper taking care of all 7 girls by herself as Chris. Julie and I went to the game. Excuse the Bad hair, but Sunday morning we all had a sing along to Disney songs, I am sure that Sebastian would be recruting us for his underwater choir, at least it would be a short concert.

Nate Family Update...)If you haven't seen Jeff and Cindis recent posts, you will have to scroll way down. I will be providing an update from Denver since Halloween. First, 2 pictures from Halloween. Monsters Inc. Alexa was Sally - Sully's Girlfriend, Brinley of course was Boo, that is her nickname, and Natalie was Mike Wizowski. It was cold that night. We carved pumkins a day or 2 before, I think that dad (ed) would be proud of our pumpkin carving skills.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!! and to everyone else.

I´m am official un-unemployed! I mean I have a job!! I start on January second. I´m really nervous, but excited at the same time. It´s in Barcelona, which I like a lot. And I make more than at my old icky job, which I really like a lot.

David is also changing jobs in January. I have to give my little husband credit within a year he, he has almost doubled what he started out making at his first job. He will have more responsibility in the new job so he´s really excited about it.

Now that we are both making more money we can actually start THINKING/DREAMING about buying an apartment, where before we couldn´t even do that. We still can´t buy one, but at least we´re coming closer to the posibility. (at least we can save more!)

Christmas is crazy here. If you think we eat a lot in the US for Christmas imagine this...
the 24th at my mother in laws for a roast beef dinner
the 25th at my sister in laws for a big chicken lunch/dinner
the 26th at my mother in laws again for another big lunch/dinner
the 31st at my mother in laws for a big SEAFOOD dinner(she´s good to me and makes chiken just for me!!)
the 6th of January (kings day...something about three kings going to visits Christ?!?!) I´m going to have the family and some of David´s friends over for a lunch/dinner...so obviously it won´t be as yummy, but I´m going to pick out a few recipes from the books mom gave me and see what I come up with!!

So, no diet for me... at least not until all the eating ends!!

Love you all. Hope all is well. Hugs and kisses for everyone. Keep smiling! cindi

Hi Cindi and all
Took the staff to lunch yesterday. Olga, Dolores, Mary, Shan, Megan, Monica and Marty.
Had a great lunch and then on the way out I had them each grab a bunch of root beer balls for Cindi. They dont\'t have root beer in Spain. I'll be happy to send them as soon as I receive the two things we left behind that I have been waiting for you to send. For a month. See folks Cindi has a little procrastination problem along with Nathan who hasent sent his mom's Christmas gift yet. Genetics can be a two edged sword. No matter we love you all and can't wait to see the Christmas morning pictures posted on this blogg hopefully before next Christmas. Mom, Cassy and I are going to the Cannon resturant in Dana Point for Christmas dinner. I will post some pictures

A letter of rebuke...

In so many ways this is the best and sometimes only way we get to stay in touch with one another. The summer and in to the fall we were all awesome about keeping everyone up to date and it was very nice to know of everyone's happenings and whereabouts. I have no idea what Jocey is up to or if Bryan is dressing up as the Grinch with side kick Billy Joe, no idea if Cindi and David burried their heads in the sand after Barca lost in the championship yesterday, no clue if Alexa is dancing all over the place, no Clue if Landon recovered from surgery, no clue what mom and dad are doing for Christmas...have I made my point?

For you to get to know what I have been doing...I think it is boring...But then I read what you guys think is boring, I personally enjoy it....Back to what I have been doing...

...After the women's team made an appearance in the national championship match we have had 20-30 NCAA Division I and Division II soccer programs after our girls. This means helping sell our kids and trying to get the kids to go to the highest bidder, with the best soccer and best opportunity to show up and play as an impact player. It is not an easy chore. We have one girl, one that I have coached since she was 12, going to BYU-Hawaii. There is a very long list of interested schools...I will not list. Most would be satisfied with the job we did at Nationals, but for me, being an NJCAA coach is more about getting players to move to the next level of soccer after their time here is complete. I have spent countless hours creating highlight videos and downloading matches (you can view them at
www.reivers.blogspot.com). Within all of this I have been getting our schedule for next year finalized....We have waaaaaaay too many away matches, so I will be spending some of my vacation time dealing with coaches and persuading them to come to our place...Not fun! We are planning on bussing to Northern Idaho and Cheyenne, Wyoming to give our kids an opportunity to see different parts of the country.

Anyway, life is busy, fortunalty I have been in good contact with Andy via MSN and kept up to date on his status in Chicago.

I hope to see pictures and letters and fun stuff this month as this is a special time of year and it is very unfortunate that we do not get to spend it with one another as I am sure we would like to...Even if there is an argument over an in-n-out dinner...It would still be fun to be around everyone. Fortunately, I do get to spend the next 2 weeks with Bobby and his family...Maybe not so fortunate for them, but for me...Very fortunate!

Merry Christmas, be safe and know that I miss and love each of you dearly.

P.S. Now it is your turn....Just click the "Create" Link and type away :)
