More pictures of Lauren

Here are the first pictures of Lauren Elizabeth Ginn. I am posting them at Bobby's request. She looks healthy but is not a real good eater yet so lets keep her in our prayers. Lots of Love Grandpa Ginn
Just a note to let everyone know that as of Tuesday night we are not in harms way. The cabin in Big Bear is not in any danger as of this time and niether is the condo in Del Mar. The news reporters are doing their best to get accurate information out but with fires raging from Ventura county to the Mexican border it is very difficult. The winds are calming down a little so that gives the firemen some hope. It will still probably be a week to ten days before all the fires are put out. I will be fine here while mom is in Utah. I'm not an invalid guys!!! Someone has to be here to get the important papers out if the worst should occur. Keep us in your prayers and all of those that have or will lose their homes.
Jeff I never could tell my right from my left so is it the blue Jacket tall one or the green jacket short one? They both look kinda blond to me?

Hi all,
Finally returned the TWUK to the Mannings yesterday. Moms new car is a 2004 Nissan Altima SE V6 and it is only about 4 inches shorter than the Infinity. Mom wanted a smaller car but they don't make small cars that are comfortable unless you go way up in price and want a 2 door coup.

Mom didn't want her picture taken so she took mine if front of the new car. Hope to see some pictures of Lauren soon and Cindi at the temple in Madrid and any other offering anyone has to post. Would love to see an updated picture of Grace Norton.

Yipee!! Everytime I get a chance to call Bobby it´s at a time when he´d be sleeping!!! I can´t wait for pictures of little Lauren. I´ve thought about it, and since Bobby and Gina are so used to the whole process and their kids seem to really want to come down to earth...fast....they should have about 6 more?!?!?! What do you all think? Give Gina a hug for me, she´s amazing!

Sorry dad, no pictures of the temple trip yet. Love you all and MISS you all.

Lauren
Elizabeth
Ginn

Congrats Gina and Bobby! Wish I could be around to help!

Things are well here in the mid-west. Soccer has two matches left before the post season begins and Jessie and I are having fun. She is having to learn new things...like no r rated movies and stuff like that.

Love and miss you all!
Talked with Bob this morning and he indicated that Elizabeth would be Laurens middle name. Ginas mother is Elizabeth. Also, I find it interesting that this is bobby and ginas 3rd girl and Natalie our 3rd girl also shares Elizabeth as a middle name.
As is normal in the case of Bobby and Gina Ginn ! A baby girl weighing 4 lbs 1 Ounce was deliver without incident at 10AM October 16, 2007. She is in the neonatal intensive care unit only to help her lungs but Bobby reported that she is breathing on her own so that is a positive. All of their children have gone through this drill so we expect all will go well. She will probably be in the hospital about a week. Gina's due date was November the 29th so the baby came about 6 weeks early.
Oh by the way her name is Lauren Ginn. We haven't been told what the middle name is going to be yet.
Congratulations Bobby and Gina
and
Welcome to the Ginn family
LAUREN!!!

This was more play time on Friday.

Conference weekend we went to Nathans to help babysit while Brandi went to St Louis to do a photo shoot. we played with the girls, went to see their soccer games, ate luch at Chillie's and basically had a real good weekend. Alexa is 8 Brinley is 6 and Natalie is almost three. the pictures are pretty much in order of activity and Ill let them speak for themselves.

On September 26th 2007 Marie was hit in an intersection. She was driving the little g20. It tore of the front bumper, ran down the passenger side, caught the rear bumper and tore it off. Marie was thrownaround a lot ad suffered bruises and contusions over a good portion of her body. She didn't want to go the doctors immediately but by Thursday night the bruising and pain became alarming so Friday she went to the ER with Shan baby sitting her. They did EKG'S AND XRAYS and determined that she had contusions and brusing and let her come home.
Gayle Manning came over and visited and offered their truck for us to drive. I drive it and mom drives my i 30. Ir ive you a real sense of "GET OUTTA MY WAY OR I'LL SMASH YOU UP" This is me going to church today.
We spent all day Saturday looking for a replacement car--- none yet---

Since we were at Sea Port Village om San Diego we had dinner at Busters a Hawaiian beach house restaurant. Fish and chips, coconut covered shrimp tempura, rack of pork ribs and cashew covered yellowtail. A little sweet but very tasty! Then we hit the shops not to hard we were very much the looky loooss.
This weekend we are going to Denver to see the grand-daughters and help Nathan babysit while Brandi is off to Saint Louis for a photo shoot. Will post some ictres of the girls next week when we return.
Love you all,
Dad

Everyone is posting neat items! Thank You. Good luck with cubs Jocey.
Saturday the 22 of Sept. 07 the Holsts joined us on a trip to San Diego to watch the Red Bull Air Races. The planes were small going about 265 mph about 50 feet above the water. It was a timed course and each pilot was required to twist and turn between the pylons. One turn caused the pilot to pull about 9 g's. So a 150 lb. pilot making that turn would feel like he weighed 1350 lbs..
As a side note the races started at 2 pm so we left at 1 pm--- plenty of time to get to San Diego---NOT!!! It took us 2.5 hrs. the freeway was very creepy crawly to say the least. Here are the pictures see if you can find Marie in the crowd. hint she has her back to the camera and is on the left hand side of the crowd.
Hi All! Now that I am getting older, pretty much ‘OVER THE HILL’, and considering they all live sooooo far away from me, you might think I would need something to remind me of my 6 wonderful grandchildren? Don’t really need anything to help remind me, but I do have a couple of things that help me ‘carry’ my grandchildren with me wherever I go. When the Normand’s lived close by, one day Shawnna picked up a seashell and gave it to me, and I placed it on the dash cover of my car. Was fun for me to look at the shell and think of Shawnna – she was with me all the time! I always wanted the other 5 grand kids to do the same thing, but so far haven’t been able to, so I did the next best thing. While sorting through much of Grandma Ginn’s ‘stuff,’ I came across a glass container filled with seashells. I sorted through them and ‘chose’ shells for the rest of the kids. As the picture shows, I lined them all up in a row and get to look at them and think of my grand kids every time I get in the car. The farthest shell to the right is a little abalone shell which I chose for Drew. The next one to the left, was the one that started it all, the one Shawnna gave to me. The next one is a star fish. I chose it for Alienor because she is a ‘star’ because she was my first grandchild. Then comes one for Guillaume, it’s bigger because he is the ‘big boy’ of the group. Next comes one I chose for Margot. As you can see, it’s a ‘unique’ shape for a ‘unique’ grandchild. Also, it’s the one that is often scooting out of line and down towards the front of the windshield – much like Margot, who often goes off and does her ‘own’ thing. Last is Perceval’s shell. I chose it because it was a beautiful brown color, so much like Perceval’s handsome brown colored hair – like his Dad’s, with waves and curls.

Some months ago, with the giving away of my 70’ VW Bug, I discovered I no longer had the personalized license plate ‘CASSY.’ That was really crushing to me, since I got that plate when personalized plates first came out and had it many years, but alas, due to my negligence, someone else is having fun of driving around with ‘CASSY’ on their car. Since then, I have been trying to think of another personalized plate I could get, but everything having to do with ‘CASSY’ was taken. Thought maybe I could use something to do with the school bus I used to drive. Her name was LuLu and she was # 21, but all those were taken too, but I kept wracking my brain and finally thought of the idea of taking the first initial of each one of my grandchildren and put it on the plate, from oldest to youngest along with one of those cute ‘hearts.’ I was so excited when I checked and found those letters weren’t taken. I signed up for it right away and now, as you can see by the picture, I have another way to always remember my grandkids, especially when I have those ‘senior moments’, which are occurring more frequently all the time.

Love you all!
Sassy Cassy
Well, I guess I'll take the silence as a resounding 'no, we don't have any suggestions for you!'

I just got back from my first BOY SCOUT! meeting. I looked BSA up a month ago and called the guy over our region and found that they would be having a booth at the Int'l School's back to school ice cream social early September. So I went to that and signed up to show my interest in starting up a pack here. The closest pack is about an hour away in Bitburg area (Germany). So, looks like I'll soon be a den leader for a group of 3rd-4th graders. Patrice thinks I'm crazy - like I don't have anything else to do - homeschooling, extracurricular activities and 3 callings. But hey, what's another hat to wear?!

I can't wait to get it started! I told them my biggest obstacles will be a husband that travels frequently and the fact that we only have one car. But other than that, I'm good to go.

I will say that it was weird to be going to a meeting in English and to know that everyone was going to be speaking English, more or less. Kind of empowering actually. If I can do it in French, English is no problem.

I'll keep you updated. This will probably be the beginning of a long 'career' in the BSA.
