Hi All!! It’s that time of year when you decide all the leaves have finally dropped from the trees and it’s time to get out in the yard and really do a ‘spring clean up.’ Of course, living in CA we have leaves but not like they do on the East coast, where the Normand’s call home. The pictures above (Andy took them with his cell phone, so the quality isn’t the best) but they show the results of an afternoon’s work in the ‘front yard’ at Andy’s dad’s house, where they are living now. I can just imagine the pile of leaves in the back yard will be twice as high because the yard is easily twice as big!!

This past weekend I did a bit of ‘yard work’ too. I've given up the gardener, which forces me to get out and get some exercise, while making an effort to 'Beeee-U-tee-fy' my cracker-box home. By the end of the day, every bone and muscle in my body was SCREAMING!! It’s just such a $^%$&^%@^##%#@)&)(&)* experience getting old!!

Love you all,
Cassy

Utah bound!

Just wanted to let you all know that I am truly moving to Logan this weekend. I have not started packing yet. Fortunately, I believe I am going to be able to get everything in my truck in one big pile. Hopefully the storms that are in the rockies right now will not interfere with my travels. But at least i am returning in a heavy truck with 4 wheel drive instead of my puny ranger. Anyway, I have been saying goodbyes and Wednesday night I am the main speaker at a fireside. The bishop of our YSA ward asked me if I would put together a farewell fireside. So, I did, and I have invited all of the soccer community in Council Bluffs to attend. I can't video tape it, but the plan is to record the audio. I figured, maybe someone might want to hear it. It is my last opportunity to be a missionary in this area. I think it is a good thing, but i is going to be emotional for me. There will be three other speakers and a piano solo.

Below is the program for the fireside.

Hi all. I finally have internet, so here´s a short update...

After living in our new place for a week we still have boxes EVERYWHERE!!! Slowly we are getting things put in their place. When I´m pleased with how everything looks I´ll post some pictures.

I do have to add a little note... Now that we have this place there is NO reason why we can´t have visitors. / hint hint...

Love you all and hope everything is going well for everyone.

O.K. so many might be wondering what is going on with me. I will tell you that I am breathing easier these days. I handed in my letter of resignation today. I have two more obstacles; 1) bennett is going to try to explain to me why I should stay tomorrow morning and 2) packing! So up until Monday I really had not felt sure about my decision to leave a successful program, a comfortable environment and a steady pay check. But I have received a calming whisper that I need to make this transition.

I am excited to move in to another community where I will feel needed and be utilized. I am grateful for this opportunity as it is an answer to my prayers. It is going to be interesting and it is going to be difficult, but I am qualified for this challenge, have a good track record and believe I can be a huge asset to northern Utah soccer.

I will have to explain my position at a later time, but basically I have been entrusted to be the front man for the soccer community in Cache Valley and surrounding areas. My job is to oversee the development of soccer in four areas; player development, coaching development, fan development, and to educate "the adult learner."

I am excited, nervous and grateful for the opportunity to do what I love in Utah again. Please keep me in your prayers as I will be making many decisions that will affect an entire soccer community and my future.

Travel Plans: The plan is to leave on Friday, April 10th in the morning. Spend Friday night with Nathan and his family. Saturday morning head to Utah...where I will land is yet to be known. maybe Bobbys house, maybe the Hillmans, maybe a hotel in Logan, who knows? Nate, make sure brandi knows i will be there for a bit Friday night :)

Love you all :)

Hi All! Here's one more pic of Drew that I missed posting the other day, but couldn't resist putting up so you could see it. He looks like he's being so 'shy and coy' - I can just see him using all that 'Normand' charm on the girls when he gets older!! They all better watch out!!

Love you all!

Hi All! It's me again!! Not to be out done, of course, Jocelyn recently sent some cute pics of my 'over the seas gang' of grandchildren. Even though it's past the Easter Holiday (had meant to get this on the blog before...), thought it would be fun to show you the 'Special Easter Bunny' that was romping around the Duffort's living room. Both Jocelyn and I were surprised any of the children could get this costume on!! Speaking of costumes, dressing up is one of the kids favorite indoor activities, as you can see by this 'funny' band of almost-Disneyland characters. And you would think, my Guillaumee-nomee was an 'underwater' chef - can you just imagine what those 'onions' looked like through those special 'goggles'? Hopefully, the goggles saved him from the 'flood of tears' that usually happen when cutting onions. And lastly, there's the whole 'over the seas gang' - lined up in a row - outdoors having fun! I love them all and it's fun to see how they are growing too!

Love you all too!

Grandma Cass

Hi All! Ninha recently sent me some pics of Shawnna and Drew - I thought you all might like to see how they are growing!! Shawnna is quite a young lady now, difficult to think she's only 7-1/2 (they grow up way too fast these days for my liking, but, oh, well...!) and Drew was looking more like a 'pretty girl' in guys clothes in these pics before they recently had his hair cut shorter (not enough for this Grandma, but, oh, well...!). Just a little update on my 'Normand' grandchildren!

Love you all!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had to move everything for the carpet cleaners yesterday. Today I had to start moving it back so we could function. Mom has had the stomach flu last night and today and spent most of today in bed. So, Be happy and don't worry Nathan, Bobby, Jeff and Cindi.

Great post Bobby. Loved the video. Brought back memories of movies of Nathan, Marion and you searching for eggs in Grandpa and Grandma Ginn's back yard at 234 W. Portal in San Clemente about 1974-1975.
Here it is 2008 and Cassy and I search for the eggs Marie hid for us to find. By the way it was a lovely 83 degrees here in sunny Southern California.
Thank you Gina for having the girls wear the dresses that Cindi got the girls. They all look so pretty and we had to laugh as Milena wiped her egg off on her dress. She is so neat and clean! Mostly adorable.

Easter on a sunny 60 degree day at the Bobby Ginn Home.

HAPPY EASTER 2008
Cassy and I had fun dyeing easter eggs!
The kids aren't the only ones
that get to have fun. We are going to hide them and
do the HUNT too!
We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter
try and teach your little ones that Christs' resurrection
it what the day is about.

A family event:

VS.

On June 4, the U.S. will head to Spain for the second time in the team’s history and the first since 1992. The fourth-ranked Spaniards have won both previous meetings, including a 3-1 win in the 1950 World Cup and a 2-0 win on March 11, 1992 in Sevilla. Spain boasts some of the most accomplished talents in world football, including their all-time leading scorer and current Real Madrid captain Raul (44 goals).
