UT 2009

Lauren and Lizzie couldn´t get enough of Grandpa!

HEY! He´s grandpa, not a jungle-gym!!

Too cute!

Girls Camp...Spain

Girls Camp was an adventure as it always is. One girl actually left the camp by herself, somehow made it down the mountain to the train and went home...without telling anyone!! Besides that it went pretty smoothly.
I´ve been in the stake YW´s for 5 years and I love it and I love the girls. Because we have so many Stake youth activities (at least one a month) I really get to know them and it get´s harder each year to see the girls I´ve been with, since they were Beehives, leave and go into Relief Society.
I don´t have a whole group picture...
This group is about a third of all the girls that were there.

Hi All,
We are having a good time with Cindy. Went to the temple in San Diego on Saturday and then ate at Old Town. Nice day very comfortable.

Sad news this morning Doug Vance called to let me know that my cousin Larry Vance passed away Saturday evening from cancer. I'm glad I had a chance to see him last month. He was a super nice guy and he will be missed.

Going to the beach to work on my tan with Cindy. Mom has to work.

Love to all

Thank You Bruce Family

THE STORY (written by Cathi Webb)
A few years ago our niece, Cindi, from California , married a handsome young man, David, from Barcelona , Spain in the San Diego Temple . While they were dating, Cindi knew David felt he was to live in Spain to strengthen the church in that area.

It has been hard for the family to have them so far away.
Cindi emailed to say they would be in Utah in August! She wondered if anyone would like to go to the Salt Lake City Real/Houston Dynamos soccer game, and who could come to a BBQ and family soccer game for FHE the Monday after that.
My husband, usually a conservative man who weighs carefully any plan, said, “Book us a flight!” We emailed everyone that we were coming from Houston and our souls delighted as other family members responded positively from Texas , Washington , Colorado , California and various parts of Utah .
August arrived with beautiful weather. Mini reunions began taking place around the scheduled events. I climbed for over 4 hours in the mountains behind Solitude Ski Resort with some family members including 6 grandchildren, the oldest was 12 years old. There were visits to Temple Square , water ski excursions and picnics and family pictures. Sunday brought smaller family units together for church and dinner; precious, precious time together.
There were 33 family members at the professional soccer game minus 4 who choose to be present at the birth of my new great nephew, Justin, who just didn’t want to miss out and joined the family over 5 weeks early.
Although some had to return home for school or work responsibilities, FHE on Monday had 36 spectators watching as children 12 and under formed two teams and played an amazing soccer game followed by adults playing into the evening.
A happy, well fed group of nearly 60 family members quietly gathered around Cindi’s parents, Ed and Marie, as they conducted a reverent and thoughtful Family Home Evening.
AND NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY.
Before the FHE closing prayer, Marie told of a family who usually gave a sum of money to charity at Christmastime. Last Christmas was different; they felt prompted to give plane tickets from Spain to America to a young woman living far from home. Hearts swelled and tears ran freely as we all were struck with the far reaching effects of the gift, and the Lord’s love and attention to us in prompting it.

Thank you Bruce Family for all the great things you have done for the Ginn family over the years....We love you.

Jimmy Ginn quite often sends me cartoons with his letters. Being in the health care business this seems like a very appropriate sentiment. I can see that it is hard to read the caption so here it is "Waiting for the Obama stimulus" Jimmy added at the top " Results of the Obama Health Plan"

Hi All,
This weekend Larry Vance was in town to see if he could endure the ride over and the effort to be at his son Ryan's wedding on the 29th of August. Ryan invited me to dinner at a restaurant in San Clemente. It was kinda short notice so I wasn't able to get in touch with Cassy. In the pictures you will see Ryan and Kimi both children of Jane and Larry (Larry's first wife) Jane and me. Larry has terminal cancer and Ryan told me this evening that Larry went on hospice this week and will probably not make it to the wedding. He was in good spirits at dinner this evening but you could tell that it was an effort for him to be there.

Last week Sunday 7-12-09 Marie and I drove down to Oceanside and visited with her grade school friend Kathy Despain Bush. It had been several years since they were down in this area last so there was a lot of catching up to do. We got tired sitting at the table so we went for a nice walk on the beach. It was less than two blocks away from the condo they were renting. The weather was great so it was nice time spent with her buddy and her husband Bob. Here are some pictures.

Nice post Bobby on your blog. I'm sure you will do well. All you need now is Cal Worthington's dog. Remeber his tv adds late at nite!

Cindi is doing a great job getting things going for the mini reunion and photo shoot. Glad it is in her court. I just get too uptight. I plan on being where i'm told to be when i'm told to be there. dressed in the appropriate colors of clothing with a smile on my face and in my heart 'cause all my children will be there.

Love Dad

Last Friday evening we along with 200 guests were invited to a reception at the RITZ CARLTON in Dana Point. It was Katie Christiansen's wedding reception. I went in my regular Sunday outfit but Mom got into her beautiful red outfit that she wore to Cindi's wedding reception. And the shoes too! Can you get in your wedding dress? Anyone! I know I can't. So here are three pictures of Marie W. Ginn taken on Friday 3 July 2009. I think she looks great.

Thank you Nathan for the surprise! Balloons and everything. The chocolates are very special and I have them hidden at work and only sneak one a day! They are yummy! Good timing they got to the office just before I left!

Thank you Cindi! Always nice to get a surprise. The cookies were yummy and the tin they came in is so cute.
Glad Girls camp went well. Mom and I will respond to your request for evaluation input by tomorrow.
Love Dad
