Left Foot! Brinley Boo, you are awesome with the ball at your feet. Now it is time for daddy to limit you to touching the ball with your left foot only. Get it now and you will be awesome! Brinley seems to be the first Ginn Grandchild with the aggressivenes to play soccer. It was a blast to watch her play...now we need videos of ALexa in Ballet...and SHAWNA playing soccer...she is freakin' amazing at soccer as well! And we need video of Landon and Stacia doing what they do best...being cute! Videos are good :)

Keep Kickin'!
Women won...Men went home.

The two games were both difficult. The women did not score for 60 minutes, as Iowa Central bunked up in a 5-4-1 and played strong marking our goal scorers rather well. Fortunatly we have other girls that can score. The girls wdominated possesion and won 3-0 in regulation. The men BATTLED, what a great match! They lost in overtime 1-0 on a contreversial no call...our G.K. got tackled on a corner kick leaving our 6 Box vacant for marshalltown to exploit us. It was very unfortunate. The other team received 8 yellow cards, the coach earned one himself. Sadly, the better team did not win...such is life in soccer. The boys were complemented for their grace and sportsmanship as they did not retaliate to the the oppositions cheap play. When the match was over the other team mooned (yes Brandi...naked Bumb) our womens team and the rest of the crowd. It was sad to see a classy team defeated by such a poor team.

We head to Peoria, Illinois this weekend. While mom and dad are flying to FRANCE(!) I will be on a 7 hour bus ride to smallville. The ladies have to win one game on saturday to go to nationals in Albany, Georgia. Wish them luck!

Love and miss you all!

P.S. Excited for Halloween Pictures!!!!!!

Win OR go home! It is that time of year! We played in the semi final matches today. It is decent weather (for Iowa) but windy! The girls played a team from Minnesota (Dakota County Technical College). This is our 3rd meeting of the season with them. The first two times we played them, we won 6-0...so today...we beat them again today 6-0. The boys played Iowa Central. We have played them twice and lost both times 1-0. The coaching staff got both teams very well prepared this weekend...not just physically, but mentally as well! The boys went out and beat ICCC 2-1 today! Both teams play for the conference championship Sunday.

In three years of being at IWCC the girls have met Iowa Central in the championship match all three seasons. The first year, we were the champions, last year ICCC earned the championship...this year, we are favored heavily. The girls have beat Iowa Central 3-0 and 3-1 in their two meetings in the regular season. Our girls look sharp! They have tons of potential and a great deal of depth on the bench!

The three years IWCC men's soccer has been around they have had to perform...the task is much more difficult than the ladies. The first year they made it to the semis, last year they beat rivarly Marshalltown CC in P.K.'s. Just as the ladies have a rematch of last years conference championship, the men do too. The men have lost to MCC once 1-0 and were the only team to hand Marshalltown a loss this season when they beat them 3-0 at home.

Sunday, is a big day for us. It has been a frustrating season, and a maturing season for Coach Bennett and I. Wish us lick...I will keep you all updated.

Thanks for the love!

The other day Alienor brought home a flyer for a Halloween party at our village's sports hall. I took the easy route and had the kids choose a costume from their assortment of dress-up outfits. I got them dressed up tonight and Patrice dropped us off - he went out with the missionaries. The flyer didn't give any details besides the time and place so I really didn't know what to expect. I admit there was that fear of showing up to find out you are the only one dressed up! Other kids were dressed up so we were relieved. That was until Alienor's friend came up and told her she wasn't dressed up for Halloween. Alienor came to me in tears. Apparently Halloween here is only witches, ghouls, vampires, etc. All the dark stuff. So everyone was looking at the kids - Snow White, a pink princess, Superman and a lion. Several kids came up to us to tell us that we weren't correctly dressed up for Halloween. Oh well, we'll know to skip the event next year!! Now that I think about it though, they do celebrate Carneval in February which is when they dress up however they want. Needless to say, we left early and came home. So goes life in a foreign country. I just laugh with the kids - even though they usually don't!
Need to get the kids in bed.
Have a happy Halloween. By the way Marion, let us know what this year's costumes are going to be and don't forget to post pictures!

Bryan... too funny! The girls here at work were a bit confused but I straightened them out. I told them you were going through a VERY EARLY mid life crisis!!

Brinley TOO CUTE! You could beat any Beckham kid any day! YOU ROCK!
Hey, Natalie isn´t too shabby with a ball either!

Nathan, thank you for posting the videos!

Jeff, you´ll have to teach me how to post the videos too!

Love you all!!

Heres some video I took of Brinley playing Soccer. She has Red Socks on. She is on the BLue team. She had a terrific day. Thanks jeff for showing me how to do this. Each video is about 5 minutes each. I thought that those who have crossed the pond would get a kick, pun intended, out of this. I hope you are all well.

Love.

Finally someone with worse hair than Andy or I during our teenage years! But hye, now that I think about it, that year that the neighbor girl made me dress up like Billy Idol for Halloween...well Brian and I would have get a lot of candy if we went door to door as 80's rock icons! Way to go POISON!

Marion told me that I was in a mid-life rut and she wanted me to try something more fun, vibrant, youthful. I am giving this a try, please let us know what you think. I think the whole thing may still be a little subdued for Marion's taste, we will have to see . . . . . . . . . . .

By the way, Patrice laughed when you suggested he might know of somewhere cheap to stay/eat. He said 'I travel business, I don't travel cheap!' That's why it's so nice to travel with him when he's on business!!

Champy-
I hate to say but we are only available the week of Oct 30 - Nov 4. That is the week Alienor has off school (All Saints Day is Nov 1). So we will have to be leaving Saturday night - sorry, can't miss church on Sunday. It is a 4-5 hour drive home. I thought you were coming in on Thursday. Just wondering, what are your plans for the day you get in, Friday? Usually you arrive in the morning coming this direction. If you plan to sleep that day, maybe we could do something (go out to eat) that evening after you have rested. Or if you have an exact itinerary for Saturday, let us know what site you'll be seeing and we'll meet you there. Please don't think we are trying to tag along. Please don't hesitate to say it's too much or too difficult to do. No offense will be taken! I KNOW site-seeing is easier without children. We only want to see you in between your tourist attractions. And I just wanted to make an effort on our end to get together considering you won't be THAT far away from us.
Again, let us know what your plans are. Maybe we'll just drop by your hotel and surprise you!!
Jocelyn
Thanks to all!! Love the help with Thanksgiving!! Hugs.

Hello all! Life is good. Soccer is in full swing, the season is 3/4 over. we play some difficult matches, the girls are 11-0-1 and 7th in the nation. We have had a pretty fun season with the girls. They have been a lto of fun and have truly gotten better both on the field and off of the field (fewer clicks and more combined activities). The boys are starting to figure stuff out. I, yes Jeffery Jon, had to have a conversation about pulling pants up. I know..a bit hypocritical, but I am getting old. I guess I am not a fan of looking at guys boxers...anyway, the boys are figuring stuff out as are the coaches. We have tightend the belt in many ways and have created a more structured men's team. They played yesterday without four of their "best" players and won 6-1. It is awesome to see a bunch of Blue Collar players work ward and get results. It is humbling!

In regards to my u17 girls, they are doing well, scoring lots of goals. But they have State cup this weekend. They will be the first team to represent a competitive team from Council Bluffs in nearly 10 years! They will have their hands full, but they are learning the system of play and are truly playing good combination soccer together. They have become a lot more fun in the past month. State Cup will be pretty interesting, as it is not a pool format like Utah. It is win or go home. Sort of nerve racking to be honest! But oh well, we will see!

Other than soccer, I have had little time to watch confernece on the web yet, but I as usual I will put it on one of the windows as I work in the office. this time of year it is truly difficult to attend church like I want to. But I go as much as I can...not enough.

I am excited for Bobby and his family. i wish I could be there for the baby blessing. I am jealous that you all have kids...cause thats about the only leur we have to get mom and dad to visit any of us. Bobby made me aware of this...I said I guess I could have a few in 10 months if I really wanted to, but I am sure mom and dad wont be too stoked to see he little bas^a*ds.

Well thre is my J. Golden Kimball moment. I will end...I hope next time I will have pictures for you. I have a shaved head! Sort of crazy...sort of nice!

Love and miss you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When exactly are you flying into Paris and what evening would you be available to go out to dinner with us all? We will be in Paris that week but wanted to confirm which day/evening you are free. Patrice will be working and he wanted to set up some appointments but didn't want it to interfere with seeing you guys. Since I knew we would be going to see you that week, I made arrangements to visit extended family members who live outside Paris. That is set for that Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.
Let me know. We look forward to seeing you guys, and seeing Cindi and David again.

Hello family,

I need some help. I can´t think of all the things we have (to eat) for Thanksgiving. These are the things I can think of:

Stuffing
Yams (I need Cassys recipe!!)
Green bean onion stuff (also need Cassys recipe)
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Pumpkin pie

What else is there?

I´m asking because while mom and dad are here we are going to have a Thanksgiving meal with Davids family (they´ve wanted to have one since I got here) and I need to know all that we can make so that mom can bring the things that we don´t have here. Thanks for your help. Love you all. Keep smiling, cindi

Well, those pictures didn't stay in the order I uploaded them! Here's Guillaume looking despondantly at his innertube!

I think Cindi told the story about Guillaume and the soccer ball, and then the inner-tube. Here are some pictures of his adventure. I tried to keep them in order. Guillaume in the sand is his way of trying to warm up. After that, I think the picture is him (or is it margot?) in the water with Patrice and David.

I'm sorry. I thought I had already posted these right when I got back. These are all I have of all of us.
Jocelyn

By the way next weekend we will be in Utah to bless Milena Lucile Ginn on Sunday the 8th of October. I am sure Bobby will post pictures.
ps Jocy if you get a chance post some pictures of Cindi and David when you were together during ypur vacation. Thank You

Two weeks ago they had the annual tall ships festival at the Dana Point Narbor. It is really growing in popularity. Especially the evening gun battles off the coast. I have never seen so many spectators crowded on the jetty to watch the ships fire their cannons at each other-quite a crowd.
Thank you all for your continued postings on this blogg. I printed over a hundred pages out today and put them in our family memory book. One binder is almost full.
