England, Old Trafford and Manchester United

Steak and Kidney pie----not so good

Manchester United Locker room

The walk to the stadium on game day---what a great atmosphere!!!

This is a view of the streets after the game from the 3rd floor.

Players Locker room, during our stadium tour.
Coaches and players that are not in the starting line up sit here during the game.
The front of Old Trafford!
15 min before game time...at kick off this place was packed(76,000fans) The fans can not drink beer in the seats so they all sing chant and drink in the concession area right up till kick off. Unbelievable to hear these fans cheer and sing their songs.

I will post more later.

These pictures were taken the second day, after the night of lots of rain.
Here´s a little bit of attitude for you dad. David kept wanting me to look at him so he could take pictures of me, but I was BUSY. So this is my "take a picture fast you´re annoying me" face.

Tug of war....my ward won!!
Jump rope...David won!! Yes me with my mouth open, "cheerleading" as usual! The lady with my William Pen sweatshirt is the YW Stake Pres. (she´s awesome) and the other lady right behind me is one of her cousenlors.
I came home from camp tired and voiceless. Overall it went well, but the best part for the girls were the craft activities mom found for me!!
Thanks mom and dad for all your support and help.
OH!! Hey I´m having camp on 4th of July weekend next year if anyone wants to come join me!?!?! Especially any of my brothers or male family members since it´s so hard to get preisthood to come!!
HA HA HA HA!!!
Hi all,
We had to go up to Big Bear this weekend to deal with some cabin issues and it was nice to get away. It is a hard drive to and from but the weather was delightful and the air was clear and the sky was blue with puffy white clouds. It even sprinkled on us as we started back down today.

We are still looking for pictures from girls camp Cindi. And hope to be getting some great shots of Bob's jet setting trip to Manchester England. Loved the family photos from Bob and Gina and wish we could get some from others of our family. It is hard to be so far away and know that grand children are changing fast and we are not able to at least enjoy seeing them on this blog.

I arrived here in Manchester England this morn safe and sound. We checked in and went straight on a tour of Old Tottem Stadium (Manchester United 76k plus seating) Very tired and cant wait to sleep tonight.

Tommorow will go to the game after lunch abd then Sunday I fly home. I will post pics when I get home.

Lots of love,
Bobby

(my phone does not work over here so I am a little lost)

by the way....these people are backward!
We had family pictures done a few weeks ago and here are the results...I think they turned out great! It was a little bit windy, but Katie (our neighbor) did such a great job!!

I started getting the kids ready almost two hours in advance so that if anything went wrong I could have time to fix it. Well of course something went wrong!! I had everyone ready to go and I was doing one last evaluation of them and realized Milena was missing...well when I found her she had an open bottle of dark brown nail polish and it was all over her. I was frantically scrubbing her with nail polish remover, it was crazy!! Luckily I had not put her in her dress yet in anticipation of something like this, if she was dressed already I don't know what we would have done. But it all turned out okay, so I'm over it.

Bobby and I have not had a professional picture of just the two of us since our wedding! I know we are big slackers.

Cougars to Thank Utah Youth Soccer Association at Michigan State Game
by Jeff Cullimore, BYU Athletic Communications

This Friday’s soccer game between BYU and Michigan State on Friday, Sept. 19 will feature a special appearance by members of the Utah Youth Soccer Association Board of Directors and State Staff who will be honored at halftime. The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m at South Field. All children under the age of 18 will be able to get into the game for $1.

Founded more than thirty years ago, the Utah Youth Soccer Association is the state's largest soccer organization. It serves as the governing body for youth soccer in Utah on behalf of the United States Soccer Federation. The Utah Youth Soccer Association is recognized by the U.S. Soccer Federation and the U.S. Olympic Committee as the governing body for youth soccer in our state. The Utah Youth Soccer Association is the only organization in Utah that offers playing opportunities to youth players of all ages, playing abilities, and levels of commitment. The Utah Youth Soccer Association has a 30-year tradition of serving Utah's youth soccer players by forming partnerships with local clubs and organizations, as well as counties, cities, towns, and school districts.
Fans attending the Michigan State game at South Field are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy live music from the football tailgate band Funkalicious and pre-game trivia contests with prizes. Two pairs of tickets to the BYU-Wyoming football game will be given away at halftime. BYUSA and Cougar United will provide free hotdogs to all students with ID.

Lauren says.....what up?
Stacia says....What up Doc?
Doesn't this kid look like his dad?

Got Carrots? We grew carrots, onions and pumpkins this year.

Stacia was proud of her giant carrot and took it to school for show and tell!

Milena never stops moving....as you see here she has something else on her mind now that she has a carrot in her hands!

Here are some pictures of the Belt kids and a little story below. Thought this was something interesting and fun. Go Belts!

My daughter recently broke her foot, which prompted us to get serious about protecting their little feet. We dug deep and got a free set of boots from someone on Motoutah (thanks) and purchased a set of boots for my older girl at RockyMountain. We happened to hit RM when they had a closeout sale. Got more gloves and shirts, along with some moto pants for the girls. Great prices. Enough so that i forgot to get my 10% motoutah discount. crap. We went out to 5mile this past saturday to get them used to their boots, and let them experience a better 'new boot day' than mine. (lots of yelling and screaming down a hill cause i couldnt brake with the new boots) funny story now, but painful at the time. Well, the girls got on their bikes and looked so good with all their gear on. We even have 1 chest protector for them to share for now. I snapped a couple pics, and they were off riding. At first a bit timid, until they got the feel of the boots, then they were fine. Riding and riding. loving it.We even got my 4 yr old back on his PX50 with training wheels and a ski rope handle attached to the back, for an adult to run along with him and control him. He did so good, and was much better than last time he rode. He rode until his hands hurt too much to continue.

Just to get one thing straight... It´s BVLGARI....always with V. It´s an Italian store that started in Rome and in Roman letters it´s a V and not a U. That´s all.

I´m waiting for the battery to charge on the camera so I can download the pictures from camp!!

Thanks for the post Jeff. I love to see you with the kids. I can tell you really love them and I´m sure they really love you.

Brian and Fam...YIPEE!!!! I know this sounds selfish, but I´m soooo glad you´ll be back in Utah. I´ve been wanting to see you all FOREVER and now when I go home I can!!!

love you all.

Cindi called about noon today and told us all about girls camp. Hopefully when she gets some rest she will post some pictures and fill in the details. Until then Marie and I went up to South Coast Plaza to see the Bulgari (European spelling) or the Bvlgari (American spelling trying to be extra special or unique) store. They charge you to enter and there are these big very serious men at each door and they formally greet you as enter and leave. Very scary! Two nice in black sales ladies on the jewelry side and one very serious thirty something on the mens side ( Ties 125 and up leather goods etc. some hair wraps with a little round gold thing looked like the only thing we could afford) we looked but didn't touch. Had dinner at Ruby's and came home. We took pictures of Max Mara too but they didn't come out.

Congratulations are in order for the Norton family!
Brian has a job in Utah. I'll have to let Cassy or Marion fill in more details.
For now we are just greatfull for his opportunity.
Well it has been a while since I have posted on here. So here it goes. Over the last three months I have attended 5 tournaments, 97 matches and ran 63 training sessions (these are estimations, but pretty dang close). It has been a fun summer. I have really enjoyed being able to hang out with Bobby and his family and just be in Utah. The soccer club is thriving and I am now in the business of training 4-10 year olds. I hope to get pictures for you, but 4 days of my week I am out there mentoring moms and dads while they train the kids. It is fun, but it requires a ton of patience. The best part is that I have already seen a huge improvement in the kids development. The parents are very complimentary and don't understand how I can keep the kids interest for 80 minutes when their recreation coach cant keep them organized for more than 10 minutes without sending them for five minute water breaks. It is fun but very challenging.

I had a coaches meeting tonight. I did a workshop on developing a positive attitude. It was based off of a book i read this last month called, "The No Complaining Rule." The book is written by Jon Gordon. I picked it up when I was wondering around Barnes & Noble a few weeks ago. I have been in a pretty downer mood lately, but this book has lifted my spirits and helped me look at the positive in everything.

Nothing real big going on here, I am on a soccer field for over 35 hours a week and behind a computer working for at least another 30 lately. Put together a Blog for the club (www.infinitysoccer.blogspot.com) and created multiple web pages (http://www.infinitysc.com/page/U8--U10-Girls-Acadmey-Information.aspx) to make the youth academy function properly.

So, I am going to go watch the US national team play Trinidad & Tobago on DVR.

Love and miss you all!

Yuba Lake

Over Labor Day weekend we went to Yuba lake with the Lewis family. We had such a good day. The kids loved playing in the water and they thought it was so great that we were on a beach. We went out on the boat and though the water was too cold for me, the kids had fun on the tube and Bobby had a great run on the wake board, I should have had my video camera...oh well.

We were supposed to camp there, but as we were putting up our tent it got crazy windy. You can't really tell from the picture but it was a major dust storm. Bobby and Kory spent an hour trying to make sure the boat was going to be secure for the night and then they spent another hour helping the people next to us bail water out of their boat. They said the water in the boat was knee deep and it was pretty difficult to bail it out with waves pouring more and more in. On top of that the guy had dropped his key somewhere inside the boat and by this time it was pitch black outside so they couldn't find it. Well after all that they decided it was too dangerous to leave the Lewis' boat in the water so the boys went to dock it which made Katie and I very nervous, but everything turned out fine. It made for an exciting evening and it was nice to get home to our own beds.

The picture of the BMW's is just for Cindi. Shan as always is keeping my nose to the grind stone and Ron and I did a great job BBQing the meat and Marie and Shan are just cool in their shades!

I never go down to Del Mar that I don't remember all you kids playing Marco Polo and throwing you all up in the air in the pool and watching you splash. My it was fun. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. In that last set you will notice that Ron has a camera. It was a new one. He had taken some pictures but hasn't figured out how to down load them yet. He will figure it out and have a great time with it I am sure.
Sure enjoyed you post on your blog Bob - great pictures -
Wish Nathan would post some for us to see.
Anyway hope to get some pictures of CINDI at girls camp.
Thank you Cassy for your great posts.
Here are the rest of the pictures from Del Mar.

Hi All,

It is Friday night late and I can't sleep so I thought I would post some pictures from last weekend at Del Mar. It was a bit of a bummer because Marie had to work Saturday morning and then all day Monday Labor Day because Staples is short of help and it is back to school week. I went down Friday night and mom came and picked me up Tuesday evening after work. The Holst came down Saturday and brought mom with them. Ron and I went over to the races and watched three races. I won the first race and lost the next two so I broke even and I think Ron did also because he won one race. The rest of the weekend we read books and played cards and just relaxed. I was the only one to get in the pool and I spent some time in the sun so I am not such a white whale now.
The complex is being well taken care of and looks great. These pictures were all taken during a get out of the house walk.
Enjoy Dad

Hi Cindi!

I'll fill you in on our weekend in Del Mar this weekend but hopefully Cassy will tell about the armed robbery of the medical marijuana outlet in the three flags center where she works. Very interesting stuff. Be sure to take pictures of girls camp so we can live it too.
Love Dad

HI ALL!! Well, Ed said make sure to take pics over the Labor Day Holiday but all I did was clean my desk off (which in itself was a major accomplishment), so you aren't getting any pics of that - BUT- Ninha and the kids traveled to Ohio to visit friends and have some 'End of Summer' fun. While there, they attended Church on Sunday, and sent me this pic of them together with Ninha's friend at Church. Everyone looks happy! Shawnna had pretty 'CURLY' hair and looks like Drew made something very special in Primary to take home. Ninha has mentioned how much she enjoys the Church in Ohio, how everyone is warm and welcoming! I'm glad they had a fun time and made it back home to VA safely!!

Love you all,
Grandma TaTa
HI ALL!! Just wanted to bring you up-to-speed on my ‘Bicycling Diaries.’ (I coined that phrase from a line in my brother, Jim’s last letter). Anyway, after my ‘crash and burn’ a week or so ago, I’ve been on the mend. Today was to be my ‘Back in the Saddle’ ride to work, but the leg hasn’t been feeling or looking the best so thought I should get to the docs and have it looked at before I set off again! I got a late appointment yesterday and good thing I did. He was none too happy with me because I waited so long to have it checked, and the bad news is IT’S INFECTED!! (Surprisingly, the bruise part, not the gash part). Have to be on antibiotics for 10 days and he doesn’t want me riding the bike for the next 2 weeks – ugh!! – it wouldn’t be good to re-injure the leg while it’s trying to heal from the first injury.

All I can say is I’m glad fuel prices are down below $4 a gallon, so things won’t be so tight for the next couple of weeks! I’ll keep you posted but for now, I’m getting to work ‘driving behind the wheel’ not ‘riding on top of them!!’

Love you all,
Cassy
