Another March Birth-day!!

Just popping by to officially announce the arrival of baby #5!

It's a boy!

Mom wanted a pregnancy picture of me. Sunday 6 March I stayed home from church - just being lazy because I was due 8 March. I tried to make myself presentable so that when the family got home from church we could take some pictures. Of course the kids were less than cooperative. Which is why I ended up with more pictures of just me and Patrice and only two of all of us. The kids are all 2 years apart but they are almost all the same heighth.

Pregnancy picture - side view. Like I keep saying, pregnancy at 37 sure isn't pregnancy at 27!

Thibaud Antoine Duffort

Born Sunday 13 March 2011 (at the hospital!!)

Weighed almost 9 lbs.

Measured almost 23 ins.

My first 'at the hospital' picture.

I woke up Sunday morning (13 Mar) knowing that I had had contractions during the night but had luckily been able to sleep through them. Once I got up and started moving around I realized that we'd need to leave for the hospital sooner rather than later. As it was the first time for me to deliver at a hospital, I had this fear of traveling in pain. I wanted to get there before my contractions were too bad. We left about 9:30 - the kids stayed home. The hospital was pretty deserted. We went right in and got settled. My labor progressed normally. Baby #5 arrived just before noon (sounds so quaint doesn't it? wish it were that easy!). A pediatrician had to stop by and check out the baby before we could leave. We got the OK and came home around 2pm. Most women stay in the hospital 5-7 days here so coming home the same day is just unheard of around here. But we were eager to get home and were just waiting around for the pediatrician to show up so we could go!

Welcome home Thibaud Antoine!

All the kids were excited to welcome a baby into our home. We had almost given up hope that the baby would ever come - the last two weeks seemed to take forever and everyone was impatient. Once home, everyone wanted to hold him at once. Poor Guillaume was disappointed that the baby was sleeping and wasn't ready to sit up and play with him yet! But he was happy with the little hands and feet. He's been dying for a baby ever since Perceval got too big. You can't see in any of the pictures but Thibaud has lots of dark hair and we're thinking he may even end up with blue eyes. He looks like Guillaume did but with hair.

Well, Blogger is acting up and won't let me add anymore pictures so I'll finish here.

Things are going along pretty well. Thibaud is a pretty good baby as long as he's well fed and burped. I've found that I just love having a newborn again. Because the kids are older I can spend a little extra time with just the baby - something I haven't really done since having Alienor. Now that Blogger has let me on again (I couldn't post for a long time) I'll try to post a little more regularly.

Much love from the ever growing Duffort family!

Patrice, Jocelyn, Alienor, Guillaume, Margot, Perceval and Thibaud

And a big ALOHA! to Jimmy
