Hi All,
Sorry Marion for the blunder about the 'short-sale' - It's obvious I know little about the world of real estate - I've never actually bought a house myself - go figure!! Even with all the necessary chaos of getting things ready for your move, I was just so excited you didn't have to do much more 'WAITING' to get the family out of Jersey, and into your new life in Utah. Can't wait to come visit!
Love you,
Your Sis,
Cass
OK, I found a couple of spare minutes between phone calls.

YIPPEE! We did sell the house and now to getting everything finalized in Utah. I will say something about that when it is all worked out. We are thrilled to have finally sold the house. Just to clarify, it isn't a short-sale, just a short period of time between offer and settlement date (short-sale in real estate lingo is a negative). Although the time is short, we have been prepared for a while, so getting everything left ready isn't going to be too bad. The worst part is all the phone calls that have to be made to get everything lined up. Both of my phones have been ringing like crazy and Bryan has been equally busy on his end. We are hoping that everything can go along smoothly and there will be a nice transition between New Jersey and Utah. This is going to be an adventure for sure. We look forward to being closer to most of you (with the exception of the ex patriots who we hope will visit). I will try and give some more details when I get them, but for now thank you to all of you for the thoughts and prayers. It have been wonderful to know that there are people thinking of us and keeping us in their thoughts. Our love to all of you.

By the way - Stacy is a very nice guy (Abby called him a cupcake). The kids think it is kind of cool to think that a professional football player is going to be living in our house. I am just glad that he liked it and wanted to move quickly. It seems to be working for all of us.
Yipee for the Norton´s!! I know Utah is....well, Utah...but it´ll be sooooo nice to have you closer when I come back to visit. It really upsets me that David hasn´t meet you guys.

On a side note: If David were black and bald, he could almost be the football players double...David being so "heafty" and all!! ha ha ha!

Love you all!
Hi All!
You know those moments that are so thrilling and exciting that your spine tingles and you get goosebumps all over your body – we’ve all had them, but it’s been a while for me – until a week ago Thursday. I was sitting at my desk at work, when I answered the telephone. On the other end was Marion, yelling ‘WE SOLD THE HOUSE – WE SOLD THE HOUSE.’ I have to tell you, it’s the HAPPIEST AND MOST EXCITED I’ve heard my sister in a VERY, VERY long time. It gave me CHILLS up and down my spine and GOOSEBUMPS all over my body! She went on to tell me that she had signed the escrow papers; that it would be a short-sale and that, the new owners wanted to move in by Memorial Day. Can you believe it – they sold the house to Philadelphia Eagles player, Stacy Andrews (that’s his pic below). I guess there are a number of players living in Marion’s housing complex and he wanted to LIVE among his team mates. Also, one of his ‘BIG MUST HAVES’ was a 3-car garage and their house was the only one for sale with a 3-car garage – so, YEAH FOR THE NORTON’S – By June, they’ll be in Utah, so much closer to ME and of course, to many of the rest of the family. For sure closer to all the Norton’s, whom almost all live in Utah. The first thing I said was ‘Be on notice, I’m at your house for the holiday’s so set a place at the table for ME!”

One funny little side note, Marion said she had to wonder how her next door neighbor was going to take this new development. Her neighbor is a ‘little guy’ of the ‘Jewish’ persuasion and so, Marion thought he would either think he’s really ‘COOL’ because he had a BIG FOOTBALL PLAYER living next door, or ‘Oh, no, there goes the neighborhood.!!” But in the end, Marion doesn’t really care, whatever – all she really cares about is that the house is sold, she is making plans for the move and that in just little more than a month, her entire family will be reunited!! That’s all we’ve cared about too! WE LOVE YOU – NORTONS!! And we’re all so happy that your family will be together, to start a NEW TIME IN YOUR LIFE TOGETHER IN UTAH!

Till next time,
Love you all,
Aunt Cassy

April....

Miriam came home to visit with some friends from Valencia. She went to her favorite salon to get her hair cut and on Sunday when we went to have family dinner we were...let´s say... shocked!! The poor thing let her hairstylest do what she wanted and came out with two toned hair and a super "artistic" cut. And we didn´t make things better because we told her what we REALLY think about it! The only one nice enough to say it was wonderful was cute little grandpa...aren´t grandpa´s great!!
Last week we celebrated a birthday of one of the young adults in our ward at our house (she was one of my YW years ago) and had some of the other young adults over to celebrate. It was fun, we ate, had bday cake and played games.

Fridays are now my date days with Carlos. Just before I went to hang out with him I stopped by a store and saw Pepridge Farm cookies (I´d never seen them here before) so I bought them to take for a snack for Carlos...I ate some too!!

Of course, Youth Conference. We had diferent activities at conference and this was MY group. We had lots of fun...I love being with the youth.
GO Group 9!!!

Last week Bobby was able to get a blade to run and he really smashed things up in two days. He had the little one the first day but it blew all tires on the nails so he got the bigger one the second day that ran on tracks and was much stronger and efficient. Booom Crash Bang Scoop. Dump he had it all on the ground by Wed afternoon and then went back to Utah. Marie and I went by on Saturday and everything was in the big dumpsters. Now we have to level the ground and get a secure permanent fence put up and pay the bills. Wow it is expensive to tear things down!!!!

It was amazing the cat poop and dead animals we found between the top and bottom of the floor! Yuk! Smelly!!!

These are pictures of Bob and me working to remove the flooring from the trailer on Saturday April 11th. As you can see I fell into a 2x6 and smashed my lip and my glasses cut me just below my eye. The lip was the thing that really hurt.

It was a real pleasure to work with Bob that day. He is a hard worker and fun to be around.

Virginia's Orchids burst forth in all their glory again this spring! Virginia was my mom and a lot of you are grand kids and great-grand kids

Poppies and Others help to support the Orchid show.

Why would we want to move to cold country? Still snowing there I here.

Lots more to post about Bobby, Gina, Stacia, Landon, Milena and Lauren and the last weeks activties ---- coming as soon as I can get them ready to post---

It's been a while

I have not been able to post anything because either soccer is all I have to talk about or life is just not that exciting. Anyway, the soccer club is progressing very well. We have active board members and a foundation committee that is assuring longevity for the clubs existence. If things continue to develop I believe I will be stuck in Logan for a long time with wages comfortable enough to actually take care of a family and go to a class here and there soon. I am actually starting to believe all of the soccer work I have done over the last 11 years is going to finally reward me in other "happy" ways.

We had our annual parents and public meeting for the club. It was fun, a year ago I was up there as the new guy selling all of these new ideas. I have about 200 people that have bought in and of those two hundred people I have the fortune to have a foundation committee that is taking all of this very seriously. They want to build for future generations! At the meeting I enjoyed simply introducing the gentlemen in charge of the foundation committee and sitting down. So as I sat back and saw a room light up with excitement I just got that comfortable feeling that I am in the right place doing the right things ate the right time for the right people. It was very comforting. It was the first time that i was convinced that i made the right decision to leave Iowa.

The foundation committee shared their reasons for being part of this change in culture and presented some action plans to get things going>

Among the action plans were:

Infinity Day with Real Salt Lake, where we take over the half time show, the pregame show and possibly have one of our girls sing the national anthem! It is a huge project that has the possibilities of generating between $20k-$40k if we do things properly!

Another plan is to have a banquet and auction for the entire club. the expectation is to invite boosters to be recognized as well as the players and teams. The goal is to raise $25k-$40 on that event. Stuff like a ten person hunting trip for 5 days is being offered (the trip is worth $10k). We do not have many of the details, but it seems to be very possible!

A golf tournament fund raiser is moving forward.

A full pledged booster program that already has major commitments in line. The goal is not to get a million small business, but to hit up the major businesses and earn $100k in the next year on boosters alone. It is very doable as cache Valley is very industrious and has a reputation of taking care of their own. Again, we already have multiple contracts nearly completed right now!

The big seller was announcing the plans for a $4 million soccer specific indoor and outdoor soccer complex for the community. We already have a construction company that has agreed to supply the labor, the materials and wants 50% of the ownership rights with no say as to what happens to the building...just wants half of the money when it is ever sold. We also have people stepping up to the plate donating land.

In the meeting, we had four millionaires in the room that all expressed genuine interest in building this environment and soccer complex for our community.

The Lord is truly blessing me (and this community) for things I am not sure that I deserve. Please keep me in your prayers, as this could be my way through life.

I don't think I am going to be some millionaire or anything, but I think they have recognized what I do and want to make sure that I don't leave. It is humbling and rewarding to see the Lord answer my prayers and know my needs.

I love and miss you all :)

Here is a sketch of the first draft of the soccer complex. If you look you will see that the indoor facility is big enough for two full indoor fields the plan is to have six offices, two locker rooms, a store and a conference room. It is a major project!

About two months ago the foundation committee brought this sketch in, framed it and said, "this is what you have brought to our community." and thanked me, Sherri and Robson for all that we do to develop the sport and improve their children. What great reward!

if you click it you will see a bigger more detailed image.

Love and miss you all! Thanks for all of your prayers and thoughts! You are all in mine!
