Updating everyone about Soccer. As I posted last week, the men ended thier season and the women continued. Well Saturday the 6th ranked Iowa Western women had to battle #8 Illinois central out of Peoria, Illinois. It was one of the worst games our girls had played all season. They were nervous, their touch on the ball was real bad. Their moveoment as a team was slow in transition. Pretty much we played real bad soccer. However, we did have two bright spots...Our All American Goalk Keeper, from Payson, Utah, made two huge saves in one on one situations...and the other teams goalie was so bad that when we got off, what seemed to be our 100th cross, she miss judged a bad attempt of a clearance and it hit her in the bumb and went in the goal.

I have said it many times as a coach, it does not matter how it crosses that line, as long as it corsses the line. We scored in the 87th minute. We had to defend a 1-0 lead for just over 3 minutes.

The Iowa Western Women's Soccer team will be ranked in the top 5 and will head to their first ever NJCAA Tournament in Albany, Georgia Novemebr 15-19th. The Lady Reivers have to win three matches to be national champions. We have a solid team,and have only allowed 5 goals in 20 matches, but we might have to abuse someone elses bumb to score goals and be successfull.
