Everyone too busy??????????????????

O.K. It is time to ctach up with everyone! We all talked during Thanksgiving day weekend. Well it has been a few weeks. What is everyone up to these days, where is everyone going for the holidays and what is on everyones christmas list?

A little about my last few weeks...wow, can I say "JETLAG?"

As I kept a brief blog on here about Georgia, the Iowa Western Girls made a valiant run for the NJCAA title and fell short in the 79th minute when they allowed YOUNG HARRIS to score a beautiful goal after a great combination play in the midfield. It was a great trip, the girls had a blast and as for everyone that had never seen us play before, we over achieved.

When we got back from nationals the monday prior to T-Day, the band and about 200 people from the school and community greeted us at the Kanesville arena. it was a pretty big deal for the school, as we were the first program in 40 years to make it to a national title game. It took soccer 3 seasons to get where nobody else had ventured...it was sort of a big deal. The week was simply a memorable one!

The day after returning, i got on a plane and headed to California. I psent the next week with bobby and his family, mom & Dad and Shan and Ron. Thanksgiving dinner was great and the family was very fun to be around! The next day, I went to San Diego to watch a soccer game at SURF CUP (one of the biggest tournaments in the nation). I went there to see a Utah team play. I watched and then hurried back to the Dana Point Harbor and wen out on one of the charter boats with Bob and Dad. We caught loads of fish, but as the captain said, "we were fishing in the nursery." Everything we were bringing up was tiny. it was fun though, we found out that fish do not like Orbits gum, nor do they like any flavor in the origianl starburst pack. I did catch a bird/duck..whatever it was when we were getting the bait...that was exciting. All in all, we had a great time in the sun and enjoyed helping the little boy and the father next to us. Bobby talked to an older gentlmen about the gospel. The dude is on like his 30th set of missionaries. he wont give up the coffee and alcohol. Very nice man! Saturday I spent with dad back in San Diego, we watched 8 hours of soccer and dad was awesome. He was so fun to have someone to come talk to after I went and talked to possible recruits. It was a lot of fun to be there with dad! Sunday I went to a different tournament in Irvine. The Hrvest Cup was fun, but I had missed most of the matches. I got to see the championship U-19 girls match. There was a team from Bakersfield that really impressed me. They have three of four girls that are flirting with the idea of coming to Iowa! We will see. Monday I reported all of my findings to Coach bennett, watched some t.v. and in the evening I took mom and dad to see casino royal 007 movie. It was good, but Mom fussed about how skinny the actor playing james bond. It was a great night because afterwards we ate at Del Taco just to make Cindi jealous :)

I went back to Iowa the next morning (Tuesday) and went to the school to do some work for a few hours. Friday morning, three days later, It was back on a plane for me! I went to Dallas, texas to coach my 17 year old girls team. They played very well. I was very pleased with them! It was a showcase tournament, so winning was not a big deal to us. There were hundreds of college coaches everywhere! The girls lost their first match 1-0, tied their second match 2-2 and tied their last match 1-1. For playing two Texas teams and one Colorado team...this little Iowa team really did well! I was very pleased with them and they had a great time. It was a much better trip than last year. Adam Webb and his family were close so they came and saw the Friday night game, then came back to the hotel where the players did skits and had some fun playing , what I refer to as, "MORMONS GAMES."

We came back Sunday night and this week I have been doing nothing but scheduling and interviewing each playe (post season interviews are not fun). It is Friday, scheduling is getting close to complete.

I plan on going to Utah for Christmas, likely staing with Bobby. Then for new years, some of us boys (my friends) that are turning 30 this year thought it would be fun to go to Vegas for New Years like the old days, so we will likely head down there the day before new years ever and saty a day after new years.

For Christmas I want a Bobby Convey Jersey from READING FC or a wife maybe? Either will do :)

Love ya tons!
