Hello ALL,
I know we have not been around on the blog very much lately. We apologize about that. Here is the news for our side of the family. Andy has finished his degree with a Bachelor's in Business Management. This is amazing since it has only been about one year and a half since he started. He is very excited that he has more time during the week now to spend with the family. Even though he just finished, he is still deciding whether or not to continue his education. The university where he attends has a program that will be less than two years again for his Master's. We'll let you know when he makes up his mind. For those of you who don't know why he started his education in the first place, it was to find a way into the corporate side of VW of America. About halfway through his degree, he started sending his application in and applying for various positions within VW of America. This gave no results and actually left him disappointed and depressed about the whole corporate thing. On Monday evening he found that there was an opening for a VW instructor for kids that just finished auto. tech. school. He applied online on Monday night, received a phone call with an initial interview on Wednesday, and had a second interview this morning at 8 am. They called back at noon today and informed Andy that they had a plane ticket for him to visit the campus on Feb. 23 and 24. We are confident that they have already approved him for the job, but just need to go through the formalities of actually meeting him in person. The position is located in Chicago and will be started as soon as possible. It looks like our little family will be moving out of sunny southern California at the end of February or the beginning of March. We have lived there once before and it was a positive experience for us. We will keep you posted about how the third interview goes next week.
